Chief Executive Officer

Adam Carte is the CEO of Luminoso.  Prior to joining Luminoso, Adam was an Operating Partner to Denham Capital Management, and a founding member and Partner of Fairlead Advisors.  At Fairlead, Adam has led negotiations for acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financings, strategic partnerships, licensing agreements, and company restructurings for over 20 different companies across a broad range of industries.  

Adam previously served in a number of C-level positions.  As the CEO of Cadre Proppants, a mining company, revenues doubled during his tenure.  He was the COO of Niotan, Inc. a chemical manufacturer that was developed and sold to its largest customer.  As the CFO of The Trigen Companies, an energy company, Adam jointly led the turnaround and doubled profits, resulting in the sale of the company that more than doubled its equity value in less than three years.

Robyn Speer

Robyn Speer

Chief Science Officer

Robyn Speer co-founded Luminoso in 2010 and serves as its Chief Science Officer. At the MIT Media Lab, she led the development of ConceptNet, an open-source, multilingual knowledge base. Her M.Eng. thesis presented a new way for computers to understand semantics based on a dimensionality-reduced representation of ConceptNet.

Ying Chen is the Chief Product Officer at Luminoso. She leads product, design, and development to power the next generation of Luminoso's award-winning software. Before joining Luminoso, Ying led Fortune 1000 organizations and VC-backed startups to deliver award-winning product solutions, most recently heading up global product marketing for platform technologies at Pegasystems.

Jeff Foley is the Vice President of Marketing at Luminoso. As an MIT engineer-turned-marketer, Jeff has been working with customer experience, CRM, and natural language technologies since 1996, at companies such as Dragon Systems, Nuance, Bullhorn, and Pegasystems.

VP Field Operations & North American Sales

Wayne is the Vice President of Field Operations and North American Sales at Luminoso.  Throughout his distinguished career, Wayne has led the growth and development of global sales teams for many VC and Private Equity backed firms, primarily in the field of helping organizations better manage unstructured data.  Prior to joining Luminoso, Wayne led the growth of the Global Sales Team at NetDocuments, which contributed to the sale of the company for over four times its value in less than three years.  Wayne proudly served on active duty for the United States Air Force.

Stephanie Nevin is the Vice President of International Sales & Corporate Development at Luminoso Technologies, leading strategic partnerships on a global basis and direct sales teams in EMEA and APAC.  Stephanie's leadership includes 20+ years in the eCRM, enterprise messaging, and security markets.  Prior to joining Luminoso, Stephanie held sales & business development positions at Autodesk, Sendmail, Inc., eGain Communications, ConnectSolutions and Socialware.

Catherine Havasi

Catherine Havasi

Board Advisor

Dr. Catherine Havasi is one of the leading experts on the use of machine learning to analyze text-based data. She is the co-founder and board advisor of Luminoso, a natural language understanding company in Cambridge, MA. Luminoso's solutions are based upon nearly a decade of her research at the MIT Media Lab on how natural language processing and machine learning can be applied to improve text analytics. Catherine also directs the Open Mind Common Sense Project, one of the largest common sense knowledge bases in the world, which she co-founded alongside Marvin Minsky and Push Singh in 1999.

Stuart Porter is a Founder, Managing Partner at Denham Capital and serves as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer. Stuart brings over 29 years of senior investment experience to Denham.  Prior to founding Denham, Stuart was a founding partner of Sowood Capital Management LP and, prior thereto, was employed as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Harvard Management Company, Inc. where he focused on public and private transactions in the energy and commodities sectors.  Stuart received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Joshua Langsam is a Managing Director at Raptor Group, assisting with all aspects of Raptor’s private investment business. He joined Raptor in September 2010 after earning an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.  Prior to Darden, Mr. Langsam analyzed private investment opportunities for Tudor Investment Corporation’s special opportunities group and was a senior analyst in Tudor’s middle office covering private equity, venture capital, and fund investments. Mr. Langsam received a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College in 2004.

As the Managing Partner for DVI Equity Partners, Bob Griffin is responsible for the companies Technology investments and portfolio management. Bob has been a key player and successful serial entrepreneur in the Software and Services industry for more than 35 years. Prior to joining Diamond Ventures Bob most recently was the Chief Executive Officer for Ayasdi a Silicon Valley Start-up out of Stanford University. In Oct. of 2011 he facilitated the sale of his company, i2, to IBM where he remained as the General Manager for the Safer Planet and Smarter Cities brand until 2017. Bob conducted his undergraduate studies in Business Management at Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire.
