Luminoso Announces Business Growth and Technology Advancements for 10-Year Anniversary
BOSTON, February 5, 2020 — Luminoso, the company that turns unstructured text data into business-critical insights, today highlighted the technology advancements and business growth the company has experienced since launching in 2010.
“Over the last decade, businesses have experienced an incredible increase in the amount of text-based communications they receive — from chatbot conversations, to tweets, online feedback surveys, and emails,” said Adam Carte, CEO of Luminoso. “As leaders from across industries have sought out more effective ways to find insights from this onslaught of unstructured text data, Luminoso has grown from an MIT-based research project into a global enterprise.”
Since launching in 2010, Luminoso’s business and technology accomplishments include:
- Introducing the fastest way to analyze unstructured text data — Luminoso’s suite of AI-powered text analytics applications offers the fastest way for organizations to make sense of unstructured text data in 15 languages. Unlike other text analytics solutions, Luminoso applications are automated and don’t require training, coding, libraries, or ontologies to fully analyze unstructured text data and quantify feedback, allowing customers to start analyzing datasets immediately. Luminoso’s text analytics applications include Luminoso Daylight and Express for Luminoso Daylight, which analyze conversational text like support tickets, open-ended survey responses, and product reviews. Luminoso also offers Luminoso Compass, a platform for classifying streaming text data like support tickets and call and chat transcripts.
- Expanding customer base — In Q4 2019, Luminoso grew its customer base by more than 30%. Luminoso customers include a number of world-leading brands, such as Hilton, athenahealth, DENSO, Officeworks, Supercell, and Swiss Post Solutions. Luminoso has also published a series of case studies detailing how it enables global brands across a broad range of industries to uncover insights from their unstructured text data.
- Growing global footprint — Luminoso established a Japanese subsidiary in 2018, and recently grew this subsidiary with a series of new hires in 2019. Luminoso also opened its new, 15,000-square-foot global headquarters in Boston in 2019.
“What has really set Luminoso apart is the underlying technology that powers all our applications,” added Carte.
Luminoso’s suite of text analytics products are powered by its proprietary QuickLearn technology, a natural language modeling system that incorporates the latest research in artificial intelligence and natural language understanding to deliver best-in-class text analytics. Luminoso introduced QuickLearn in 2016, and recently announced QuickLearn 2.0, which is the first commercially-available solution that reduces biases in AI-powered text analysis.
